First on the bill is Vic 20, a hit-making machine lead by Al Bombs (of the Average White Boys) and Tim Hansen (Old Man Hansen) - one part Gary Numan, one part The Cars, Vic 20 mixes sugar sweet cavity inducing '80s wave anthems with pop hooks that will imbed so deep into your mind they will leave scars. All this is spread nicely over old school beats that will cause spontaneous dancing from coast to coast.
Next up is Colorblind. If you have never seen this shoegazing new wave/industrial hybrid, you're in for a devilish treat as singer/songwriter Jon Kervin tears his heart out over and over on songs that contain more honesty and bleak wanting then a bus full of Conor Obersts. All the while keyboard player Jay Claremont knocks you over with dark beautifully sweeping synth assaults that lead way to huge dark jaw-dropping beats. Colorblind is an intelligent invigorating shot in the arm to the '80s synth pop dynasties of Depeche Mode and New Order both of which would probably still be going strong if they pack one quarter of the punch this duo does. And next ladies and gents is the first part of our coheadlining extravaganza. They won the WBCN Rumble, they where voted The Noise's best live band. their live shows are the talk of Beantown, and their album is absolutely brilliant - ladies and gentlemen - the Lucky Dog Music Hall is very proud to bring you The Dresden Dolls! You have heard about them you have read about them your ex keeps sending marriage proposals to them now is you chance to see them live and in person they have been compared to every one from Tori Amos to the Violent Femmes from Liz Phair to PJ Harvey, but trust me those comparisons do nothing to illustrate just how darkly witty and talented this duo truly is singer song writer Amanda Palmer and drummer Brian Viglione are going to hit the Dog with a one-two punch that will leave it and Worcester reeling for years to come. And lastly your hosts. What else can be said about these guys that has not already been said colorful entertaining obnoxious - The Deadites leave their mark every time they hit the stage. Perhaps its best to just leave it to a much better writer than I and what he had to say about Wormtown.org's "Best Live" and "People's Choice" award winners for "Best Pop Band": "The Deadites were tremendous in a shake your ass 'til the cows come home, cymbal on fire, raw sexuality, crowd singalong, didn't want it to end, good time." - Gabe Rollins, Wormtown.org. So come on down and show the Dolls that they have been missing out by not playing in front of the most passionate fun loving live show fans in the world. And please don't miss this opportunity to see Colorblind and Vic 20 - you will not be disappointed. MARS (Mike Mars is co-host of Worcester Rocks, heard every Sunday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. on WORC 1310 AM).![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I'm friggin' pissed!
Someone ate my last half gallon of vanilla bean ice cream that I had in the sub-zero walk-in freezer. It was clearly labeled "TINY WIGHT's VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM, ASSHOLE. NO TOUCHY."
I just got back from the grocery store with all these sundae fixin's and now I'm standing here with MUD on my face. Whoever took that ice cream, I swear to you "I will punch your fucking lights out".
